5.5.2 Chromatogram processing
Comments
After stopping an analysis it is advisable to
check and optimize the integration parameters.
The key parameters are Peak Width
and Threshold. Their simplified definition is:
• The Peak Width parameter determines that all
distinctly narrow peaks, compared to the de-
fined value, will not be integrated.
• The Threshold parameter determines the noise
threshold, which means that only peaks of at
least double the height of the defined value are
detected.
Note: In reality, however, the situation is more complex
as it always combines the mutual effects of both
parameters and the peak shape.

Both parameters can be applied to the whole
chromatogram (Global) or to a defined interval
(Local).
